Tonight on Live From the 101, I’ve changed up the intro (and probably will a few more times until I’m happy with it) and beware of J-Pop. Anyway, I had the pleasure of interviewing Paul Stamatiou, 9rules member, tech blogger and certified traffic whore. Although it was a pretty short interview, we covered a bit, including how much of a Mac buff Paul is. Also included are comments on balancing college and blogging (and how losing at dodgeball is more fun than blogging), his thoughts on 9rules, how his addiction to the social bookmarking site Digg has helped him kick his teacher’s ass.

Topic: Opportunities and Obligations

I’m happy to finally welcome you to the weekly run of Live From the 101. Hopefully this will be a weekly thing, with talks, interviews and more group podcasting fun for your listening pleasure. Today on episode five of Live From the 101, I’ll talk about the process of moving through your day job, getting exposed to opportunities, feeling the urge to try new things and finally moving on to them - without burning bridges. I’ll also allude to some past experiences of mine that follow this process and proving just how much of a cycle this is. Also note that I’m not always the prime example of footsteps to follow.

I’d love to hear your comments on the podcast, because it’s one of those that’s strictly out of the web arena. Also, if you have any ideas for future podcasts or would like to be a part of a future show; just let me know. Just make sure you have the right equipment.

Well, looking at my watch… it’s about 2PM Central Time, and guess what? I just got up. Anyway, I had a lot of fun yesterday but not without bundle of nerves. After actually going to most of the panels today, I gave myself little time to actually prepare for my event. However with some magic, it worked out really well and the 80+ people that were there definitely had a lot of fun. I’ll be creating a new site for the bowling tournament, but for now you can see the final standings here. Needless to say, this lunacy will happen again next year (but in much larger fashion). As for the podcast, I was joined by some fine gentlemen for a talk of yesterday’s events. Below was the “non-existant outline” that ran our course of events. But before you download it, my apologies for some of the voices being hard to hear. Matto and Anton were sitting pretty far from the iSight. So you might hear them and you might not. We tried to repeat whatever they said or just tilt the laptop towards them (so you will hear a little rustling).
